Price Landing Park Master Plan
Cincinnati, OH
The Price Landing Park Master Plan was created utilizing a public engagement process that involved residents of one of the poorest neighborhoods in Cincinnati, Ohio: Lower Price Hill. The purpose of the master plan was to help the neighborhood, public officials, and potential partners and funders, visualize the potential of the property (which was formerly a railyard and storage area for raw materials) for the higher and better use as a destination park. Jeff Raser led the master planning team, which included landscape architects: Human Nature, and site engineers: AECOM.
The site for the park is on the banks of the Ohio River. The multi-stage public engagement effort resulted in residents and interested stakeholders envisioning a park with multiple amenities and places, which would become a source of neighborhood pride. With guidance from the design team, residents programmed the park to have the amenities and spaces they wanted. These include: a fishing pier, amphitheater, open lawns, playground, boat launch, ecological education center, entry plaza and drop-off, and several river overlooks.
The Price Landing Park will also serve as a nexus point for two regional bike trails: the Ohio River Trail and the Mill Creek Greenway Trail.
