Montgomery Gateway Conceptual Plan

The Montgomery Gateway Conceptual Plan showed a development team how an 11 acre site could become a walkable, mixed use neighborhood.

Situated at the city’s primary southern entry point on a heavily travelled arterial highway, the site has the potential to be a welcoming gateway for the city. One of the conceptual plan’s primary goals is to send a signal to drivers travelling on the highway that they are entering a pedestrian-friendly city, and that they should slow down and take notice of the historic main street ahead.

The conceptual plan contains a small network of streets with sidewalks, cafes and on-street parking. The plan also contains multiple public gathering spaces – including a half-acre park where the city’s annual Bastille Day Festival could be held – and 11 buildings with office, retail, restaurant, and upscale residential uses served with off-street and structured parking.
